The Open Day and Public Parade was a day for the heroes to enjoy themselves, receive awards, celebrate their achievements, display their work, and to parade in the street outside the Goodwill Industries. The public was invited to celebrate with us and to participate in the parade.
Events Land Limited and Tropical Power enabled us to provide go carts, water slides and a bouncy castle. We thank all our sponsors (see banner) for our activities including magic shows, zumba, paper making, film screenings, face painting, mehendi, our art corner and more.
The awards ceremony was moderated by Selvyn Lewis from BARCAM and our head volunteer Samantha Scotter. Heroes received trophies and personalized gifts that were very specific to their individual personalities. Apart from our sponsors, members of the public generously donated towards this wish list, and artiste John John Francis made a guest appearance.
We also collaborated with very talented groups who supported our parade including tassa by the Sanjay Boys, steelpan from the Woodbrook Playboyz, and Moko Jumbies from the Keylemanjahro School of Art and Culture.
